Employees are not users. Employees are the people you keep records for and, with daily check-in, mark present. They do not sign in, so Solo keeps one and every paid plan keeps as many as you like. The people numbers above are people who open Balance themselves.
The naira prices are for businesses in Nigeria, where local cards cannot charge in dollars.

What does it actually cost?
Solo is free and stays free: one business, one user, 25 invoices a month. In Nigeria, Trader is ₦4,000 a month or ₦40,000 for the year, Merchant is ₦8,500 or ₦85,000, and Empire is ₦17,500 or ₦175,000. Everywhere else the same plans are $9, $19 and $39 a month, or ten times that for a year. One price for the whole business, not per person. The paid plans are not on sale yet, so for now everyone starts on Solo and nobody is charged anything.
What happens when I pass 25 invoices?
Balance stops at 25 for that month and says so. Drafts still save, and the count starts again on the 1st. Trader has no monthly limit once paid plans open. Nothing you already entered is touched, and the invoices you raised on the free plan stay exactly as they are.
Can my cashier see my profit?
Not unless you let them. Profit, commissions and the money reports are for owners and admins, and staff get the day to day work: sales, payments, expenses and purchases. On Merchant and Empire you can tick what each person may see, so one cashier can be shown profit while the rest are not.
What if the network is down?
Balance needs a connection to work, so a dead network means you cannot raise an invoice on it. It tells you plainly rather than pretending to save. Offline is the most asked for thing we do not have yet.
Where does my data live?
Your records are in a Postgres database on our own server, backed up every day, and the files you attach are kept in Cloudflare's storage. None of it is shared with anyone, sold, or used for anything except running your account.
Can I get my records out?
Invoices and receipts download as PDFs whenever you want. If you want the raw data, ask and we will send you the lot.
Can I run more than one shop on one login?
Merchant covers two businesses and Empire covers five, each with its own currency, logo, opening time and team, switched without signing out. Solo and Trader are one business each.
What if a paid plan ends?
The account drops back to Solo. Your records stay, the paid features switch off, and anything older than three months is hidden rather than deleted. Back on a paid plan, it all shows again.
